Sheath Blank Kit 1 EHK-SK1

Sheath Blank Kit 1

EHK-SK1

Price: £10.00 (Including VAT at 20%)

Quantity:

Fits blades 100-110 mm.

The kit consists of a pre-marked 3mm Veg tanned leather blank with stitching holes defined and the inside has been prepared to help with the folding of the leather.

A belt loop is also supplied with two rivets that enables the user to decide if left or right-handed use if required.

Some basic instructions:

1. Rivet the belt loop in the desired position.

2. Enlarge the pin pricks with an awl to allow the needles to pass through easily.

3. Soak the sheath in some warm water for about 5 minutes.
This will make the leather very soft and supple.

4. Start sowing from the tip when you reach the top sew back a few stitches to hold it all tight.

5. Wrap your knife in cling film and gently work the knife into the sheath.
Then work with you fingers to mould the leather to take on the shape of your handle.

6. You can leave the leather in it's natural state. It will take on a patina that will darken with time, or
alternatively it can be dyed at this stage, but it's advisable to take the knife out before doing so.
Whatever you decide to do, the knife should only be left in the damp sheath for a couple of hours, then take it out carefully and if you can hang it in a warm place to harden.

These instructions will be included with your kit
